I had the chance to take my dad out to the lease this week. Our plan was to try to find some pigs, then go fishing. We sat for 6 hours Monday night, but the pigs never showed up. The acorns have started to fall so the usual hunting locations near the feeders have been slowing down. We did mange to call in one coyote.

We went back out Tuesday am and I managed to find a sounder of pigs working near a small pond.. We were able to stalk in to within 85-90 yds of them downwind and my dad dropped one from the group with a well placed head shot.

The fishing proved to be a little faster paced than the pig hunting. The action was nonstop for three hours. We boated 35-40 healthy bass with the largest pictured below.

Good times.

It is my gun and it is his preferred weapon when we are in the field. Preferred when compared against a LWRC REPR w/Trijicon Reap Ir and a DPMS 5.56 w/ ATN X-Sight II HD that I have for him to use. The gun is easy to use and super accurate even with the 20" barrel. I'm not a long range shooter, but I can reliably hit steel torso targets @ 600yds with that gun. He hasn't been able to miss a shot with that gun.

cheers Enjoy these times while you can. I don't get to share hunts with my dad anymore and miss it greatly. Time in the field with family is the real trophies.

Congratulations to both of you for success in the hunting/fishing arena, and the "quality time with each other" arena as well!
