How much demand is there for services such as Bobcat work, shredding or putting in food plots? I have a Bobcat and a small tractor (35 HP) and was kind of wondering if anyone ever needs stuff like that done on the lease. I haven't advertised yet as I have been to busy but I recently quit my regular job to become self employed so I'm a little more flexible now. So, I thought I'd ask and try to see what I would be getting myself into if I were to start offering such services.

Not on a lease, but have a fence line I own that needs shredding. I won't do it on my tractor cuz it needs to be pushed, and have considered renting a skidsteer with front mounted shredder, but cost prohibitive, also not really enough to get a dozer. Unfortunately, I'm several hours from SA.

Money talks Dalroo!

Theres plenty of money to be made, especially at certain times of the year. There's numerous people in the food plot section requesting such a service as a matter of fact.

travel/transportation over distance would drive cost drastically up if it was very far. I used to do all sorts of tractor work around where I live and would offer within 15 miles were at no cost, $1.50/mile one way if farther ... and that really will only cover your expenses but not your time.

Depends on where you are going to provide your services and costs on transportation. There are needs but more details would be helpful.

Thanks for the input. I'm loaded up with work until probably the end of November so not quite ready to offer these services yet but y'all have given me an idea of what people might need. I may try to gear up for spring time.
I would try to keep my rates and travel costs very reasonable but I'll have to wait until my current schedule clears up before I'll know for sure if this is something I'll have time for. The main reason I'm hoping to get into this a little is that I like to see properties improved for the benefit of the deer herd.

Thanks again and I will definitely post on here if I'm able to offer some services.

I honestly don't see why you couldn't be snowed under with work.
Most hunters do their own either renting or buying their own equipment, but offering a reasonable price for the services you shouldn't have a problem.
It's figuring out your cost, and wear and tare on your equipment, and if it's worth it where a profit is to be made.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

in the right area im sure you could find plenty of work... that can put a lot of wear and tear on a machine though so be prepared for that...
