I have an old Weatherby SAS shotgun that has been discontinued by Weatherby, and from the looks of it they don't stock parts for something when they discontinue it. The operating handle (Weatherby part #102100 from their diagram) seems to have fallen out in the field the other day and I can't seem to locate another. Brownells, GunPartsCorp nothing. Any ideas on where to look? Anyone here a Weatherby guru and knows if they might have used the same handle on later shotguns. Thanks

That could be tough. Midwest Gun Works and some of the other places I usually look does not seem to have what you want. You might check Lee's Gun Parts here in the metroplex. Unfortunately they do not have an online catalog, but they might be able to help over the phone. Good luck.

Might have been made by Valtro in Italy. They have a US website though: http://www.valtrousa.com/shotguns.html

It's possible they might have what you're looking for.

Here you go, see if this is the same.

Scroll down to the correct number.

Jeff. It has the same part number and diagram as weatherby, just don't know if they would interchange.

Through the years Weatherby has outsourced manufacturing of some product lines to others who branded the product with the Weatherby name. That is why there are some Weatherby products showing made in Germany, Japan, or somewhere other than Paso Robles.

Does your shotgun say "Made in Japan"?

SKB manufactured shotguns for Weatherby beginning in 1984.

The diagram matching and the SKB parts number matching seem like more than a coincidence.

If it does not fit return it. Certainly seems worth a $28 gamble.

Very interesting. The Valtro link above does not show parts numbers I could find.

That SKB parts website has a customer support number.

Might be worthwhile to call and ask if it will fit.

Also might be worth calling Weatherby's customer support to ask where to find the part.
