Picked up my daughters boyfriends Mossberg 390, semi auto shotgun. The trigger and safety (on top of receiver) are "stuck/froze". I'm no gunsmith but need to be the hero and fix it cuz i'm the "gun expert".
Anyone think they know the problem? Besides its a Mossberg and its broke???
I got on You Tube a bit last night, will go after it when I get back from walking the mutt.

Shoot some Kroil (or other) on it and wait a couple days...if that fails buy him that new Fabarm and make him pay for the wedding! P_102

How old is it? I used to really dislike Mossberg & thought of them as bottom of the bucket but in recent times they've improved a lot. The 930 is a pretty dang good shotty (I have a 930 SPX HD). You can remove the safety "slide" fairly easy. I'd do that & see what kind of crud is in there keeping it from moving. Lube it up in there while it's off. As far as the trigger "stuck", if the safety is stuck in the on position then the trigger won't budge. Start with removing & lubing the safety area & come back.

I wouldn't blame Mossberg, maybe poor maintained... i'm sure this is the cause. you know most young guys, hunt, shove said gun in a waterproof case , don't touch it till the next hunting trip, hunt and repeat, then wonder why the gun doesn't work or have rust. I enjoy this, he's a great young man, loves to hunt and fish. he's just never had anyone to teach him about the stuff we all got pounded into our heads by our mentors. i'll holler when I get into it .
