Do you think the crimp groove makes a difference in accuracy comparing it to the same bullet without the crimp groove in rifle applications

If you're not crimping, I don't believe the presence or absence of a cannelure matters at all.

Do you think the crimp groove makes a difference in accuracy comparing it to the same bullet without the crimp groove in rifle applications I've seen cannalure bullets wind drift right at 600+ yards, and slick bullets did not. We had a right to left wind, and three 6.5 Grendels. The two guys shooting A-Max had to hold right wind, the one guy shooting SST, in the same weight, and BC, held no wind. His cannalure was overcoming the right to left wind, with spin drift.

That's believable...but would you call that a POI difference, or an accuracy difference?

POI, no doubt about it. The SST bullets held perfect elevation, and once I figured out the drift, they held perfect left to right. They shot very consistent, they just rolled their way to the right as they did it, but it was predictable in what they were going to do, as they printed on top of each other. I literally watched trace, prior to impact. They ran plenty "accurate" once the gremlin was figured out.

Interesting to read this. I have 100 150 grain nosler partitions that have canelures I have been putting off loading because the ones I developed my load with don't have them. I was planning on testing a few but reading this makes me more confident I wont find much difference.
