If you were loading a hunting load for your creedmoor, what would you use? I have plenty of h4350, looking mainly for bullet selection. Going to be hunting hogs and deer. Mainly 100-250 yds.

Red is as consistent on recommending those bullets as the performance of those bullets as their performance on game is.

Anything stated above is perfect. The options are wide open. Find a good load and practice with it. A good bullet paired with a good shooter with good shot placement will do anything you want!

In my 260 I use 120 gr Nosler BT's over a rather warm load of R17. If it didn't work so well, I'd change bullets. I shoot em in the lungs.

funny Like kmon1 said I am consistent with them for a reason. Just like your consistent with bergers for a reason. Here the question was hunting and why I am consistent. I wouldn't recommend them for target shooting and wonder why all the target bullets get recommendations for hunting(although I do like the new design of the ELDX and the new placement of the interlock ring as it will mimic a partition but I have not yet tried them). You can take those partitions and put them anywhere, in the shoulder, heavy bone, through the ribs, nose to tail or tail to nose and they are going to perform, expand and penetrate. That is what they are made to do and they do it well, they are not the cheapest and they may not be the most accurate, but I have had zero problem achieving more than acceptable hunting level accuracy out of them. Last year my wife shot a 165 pound buck with my 270 and 150 grain partition. The bullet hit and went through a cattle panel before it hit the deer, held its course hit the deer perfectly behind the shoulder where she was aiming. Bullet was found under the offside skin and the deer ran a pretty short distance and died. Would other bullets have done it? I don't know, but I have been using and trusting them for the past 15-20 years and it was just one more reason why I will continue to. Ive had many bullets come unglued when they hit a shoulder and fail to perform as intended and I have had many mono metal bullets fail to expand on light tissue behind the shoulders where no large bones were hit. I have killed a bunch of critters with partitions and have never had even the smallest inkling of a complaint with their on game performance.

Many hunting bullet manufacturers have been trying to emulate the nosler partition for almost 70 years, for obvious reasons. Anyone who has shot enough game with them knows they are the finest hunting bullet ever made.
Exploding target bullets for hunting are all the rage. I'm out.

I went to the range today and shot some factory ammo. It seem to like hornady superformance 129sst the best. I think I'll buy a couple different bullets for and see how it does.

Cannot go wrong with Nosler Accubonds & Ballistic Tips, Partitions, ELD-X and Gamekings. They all work well. I use mostly Accubonds and Ballistic Tips.

In a 260, 100 Barnes TTSX at 3100 fps consistently provide DRT results with shots to the forward point of the shoulder. Others tried and which work are Partitions, 120 BT's, and 120 TTSX's, but the 100 TTSX is my favorite and has been used from 15 - 215 yards with consistent results. Also, it has pleasantly mild recoil.

I am using 38.0 grains of H4350 behind a 140 Accubond. No, I am not pushing it by any means and, as Chad and I agree, an animal doesn't know if it is hit with 38.0 or 42.0 grains of powder. My last group, a 7 shot group, measured .336. This is with a pretty warm barrel too. Have pics if you want to see. This load has taken down whatever I have used it for. The rifle is built off of a Tikka action.

Loaded some of these up with IMR 4451 with impressive results. I think this is going to be my Hill Country WT/Hog load this year. The ELD-X is fantastic and I've killed elk, oryx, hogs and deer with it.

Exploding target bullets for hunting are all the rage. I'm out. I agree with you and redchevy I've hunted with several bullets since I was a young man - the Partition have 100% kill/dropped on the spot record for me
