Taking the Daughter on a youth Duck hunt Saturday in PA. Want to get a Mount if she is successful. Anything I need to do to the Duck prior to arriving home? Will be an hour and half away from home.
Thanks,
Pig

Don't let a dog go get is the single most important step IMO. The other thing I do is place the bill under one of the wings and carefully place the Duck in a freezer bag then get it on ice.

Hopefully somebody will come along and add to this but that's what I do.

Thanks. Sounds good.

Freeze it whole, as people have said put the head under the wind so it doesn't get snapped off in the freezer.

NEVER EVER USE PANTYHOSE!!! And never use newspaper. Put in a freezer bag getting all the air out and then double and triple bag it. Make sure to freeze in a frost freezer NOT frost free if holding it for a while. Go to birdman studios and he has some demonstrations there.

Agree with Roc. Just put in a very large freezer bag and tuck head under wing. Tape it up with it in the bag to keep in the position you want. No pantyhose or newspaper.
