This may have been discussed already.

I was watching Naked and Afraid on Discovery Chanel.
I missed the intro of the show . I assumed it was in Africa.
I was watching and thinking how the terrain looks like my ranch in Rock Springs, TX.
Turns out it was filmed in Texas. Titled "Texan-Torture"
I'm guessing it had to be someplace in Edwards County.
Does anyone know the location it was filmed?

Anyone else watch the episode?

I saw it, looked to me like it was filmed somewhere in the hill country on a high fence ranch.

I am always amazed with that show, in that the last thing they think about caring for is their feet. I cringe at some of the stuff I see them walk thru, on their way to catch a minnow or frog for food!

Wonder why they didn't pick a ranch in deep south Texas?
Probably because they wouldn't be able to move 10' from where they got dropped off! roflmao

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Not sure on the locations but Edwards county might be it.
I'm with you on the foot protection.

I haven't watched more than two minutes of that show....sometime after it first started I was flipping thru channels and stopped on an episode....watched a couple of minutes...

They were going on and on about having to find water or they would be in serious trouble....and I'm thinking, yup I'm sure the camera crew is dying of thirst..... rolleyes

I just kept on flipping....was not the least bit impressed....I'll turn the TV off before I watch another minute of that BS.... 2cents

Just did a quick google search and found a thread on reddit. Someone commented and said they were on the Ox Ranch in Uvalde County.

Went to their website and they've got one of those instant messenger pop-ups, so I just asked if they were the ranch where it was filmed and the fella named James on the other end confirmed that it was. By the looks of their website it looks like the type of place that would host that show.

I only seen one episode, and honestly it was only because the girl was very pretty.

Ive watched it a number of times. I love how they edit in clips of dangerous animals...that don't live in the country they are filming in! laugh
Like a badger in the jungles of Colombia!
Or an Eyelash Viper in Louisiana!
etc.etc!!

wait a minute here. I met an eyelash viper in Louisiana in 1968, she was a redhead. (or was that an eyelash batter?"

I don't think they could last long enough in the wilds if they were put in the thick woods of east Texas. Between the chiggers and ticks and everything else that eats on you they would just be spending all their time scratching.

the show is not about the camera crew. i am sure they can have water, food any time. It is about the people on the show. Can you stay 21-30 days any where , finding your own food and water, fighting the elements

The massive weight loss they experience is proof enough that it's at least mostly for real.

I wonder if the contestants have to get a hunting license and what happens if they kill a deer out of season?
