Yee-haw! I'm ready. Hope to see some white wings!

Water hole evenings will be a bust near me, since every depression is full.

But at least I'll have wild things for company, although this jack looks scared.

I'll be in Woodson and can't wait. Neither can Buster. Is it time yet Dad?

Time to start watching the long term forecast. A little rain this weekend, the no more for the next two week, and temps in the lower 80's would be perfect.

...but they are already calling for rain through mid week next week. Looks like temps might stay below 90

I'm just as excited for the opener as my 3 day work week I will have because of it!

We are getting pumped also! So, we went to our lease last weekend, and our dove spot on our lease did not have but 2 birds flying that we saw. Last year in this spot opening weekend it was hot and heavy with birds everywhere. Is it too early to figure out the hot spots? I'm kind of new to the dove hunting and knowing the patterns and such.

They move around on our deer lease every year. I have to find them and usually do. The past 3 years they have not been in the same place with all the rain. During the drought years it was easy, hunt water. Not anymore. Even if you have a crop field, the might not like yours but love your neighbors. You never know.

I agree. Some years are easier than others but you usually limit out west, might take a little longer.

I'm sending an advance scout to my lease
