CTD is a bunch of sorry individuals, plain and simple.
Soon we will see CTD board members running for Congress and Senate. They will fit right in.

Whatever you wanna call CTD's tactics, it doesn't matter. They're certainly not a group of ethical businessmen. I'll never buy a damned thing from them ever again. If they eventually go down the tubes, I'll raise a glass to their demise.

Well CTD paid the price for there bad tactics as well. McKinney Stored closed and I believe the Ft. Worth store closed as well. Only running online sells at this point. I remember all this, I was in the middle of building my dads AR when it happened. Needless to say his AR went on a shelf for awhile until supplies and prices came down. I do remember CTD trying to sell a used 30rnd metal mag with a Colt floor plate for $100. And all the stupid prices for ARs and 22lr ammo. But I just laughed and said NOPE!! But like it or not, if that craze happens again. I will be listing one of my AR's for sale to see if it will fetch a stupid price.

CTD tried to rebrand as Fort Worth Gun, to my knowledge it was short lived.

I don't personally have an issue with people raising the price of an item based on supply and demand, but canceling orders and re-pricing items is really crummy. I don't buy at CTD because they're usually more expensive than pretty much any place else. But if they were cheap, I'd have a hard time buying from them due to the way they handled orders during that debacle.

McKinney Stored closed and I believe the Ft. Worth store closed as well. Ft. Worth store is definitely closed. In fact, next to that store was a warehouse full of stuff for their online business that was supposedly a separate company (same name same logo). It is empty now. I remember seeing something online, going to the store to get hands on and being told "it's not in stock, you can order it through our catalog". Knowing full well there was one in that building. Oh well, sales loss for them. I was unaware of their business practices mentioned above. I haven't bought anything from them in several years anyway but will never again because of this. Bastards.

What really made me mad was the gun stores who had paid employees go wait in line at walmart, Dicks, etc. and buy up all the 22 LR ammo at regular retail price, then charge 70-100$ a brick at their store for it. I am not paying 75$ for a brick of 22, and I don't have the time to wait outside the store and time semi truck shipments. Several of the local gun stores did this in Tucson, and I made sure to never set foot in their stores again.

Elm Fork does the same thing....buys up all the $5 Rios at Dicks sporting goods on LBJ and then sells them for a $8-$9 at the range.

I am a very loyal customer for businesses that have earned my business. When there is a problem, the way they handle that problem is my yardstick.
Yes, the market will always dictate the price. And yes, people with integrity have very long memories. The details do matter.
