I talked tp my bike expert, he said to skip the baby carts and buy one of these cargo trailers. Both are about $80 shipped to your door.

Been considering it myself for public land hunting. Using it to get to the back where less people are. Walmart has some under $200 with big tires. Maybe add a trailer to help haul thing in and out.

I am an avid mtn biker and have thought of doing the same. There are a lot of pros and a lot of cons however. Most of which will all be dictated on the "location and/or terrain" you are riding.
If it's a simple commute back and forth from camp to the blind on descent trails/farm roads it will be fine. Won't really need anything nice, just a mtn bike with gears.
If it's not as smooth as mentioned above or has significant elevation gains or at altitude in the mountains you had better be in better shape that you would be for hiking. Cycling up hills or riding at elevation will wipe you out quicker than anything if you aren't in shape or are a flat lander. This is where I would strongly consider buying an e-bike (electric). They provide a fair amount of additional watts to help save your legs and energy expenditure. The down side to them is that they are heavy.
To avoid punctures & pinch flats I would ride on "plus size tires" and tires with Kevlar sidewalks or sidewalks made out of puncture resistant material (I.e. Exo model Maxxis tires). I would also definitely ride on a tubeless set up.
I know there are some new companies that are making hunting specific mountain bikes. But these aren't your major bike retailers so I would look into what their warranty programs consist of. Major bike retailers like Trek, Giant, Specilaized offer lifetime frame warranties. I can go on and on.
Basically if the terrain isn't steep or overly rugged a bike would be a great and quick form of transportation. Otherwise I think it may not be worth the hassle and definitely not worth the added energy expenditure.

All bike geometries vary to some degree. At 6'4" however you will need at least an XL.. All bike manufactures have some generalized sizing guides on their websites however nothing beats going into a bike store, and riding them. Most stores will fit you for free even if you aren't buying but just want a frame of reference.

This past spring I bought this Diamondback 29er: Diamondback Bicycles Overdrive 29er Complete READY RIDE Hardtail Mountain Bike, 22"/XLarge Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013VEFK9C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_s3hBWOZhT7VmBI've been using it to ride to work (only 3 miles) two or three times a week, and I've been using my hunting backpack to haul groceries home from HEB on the bike (5 miles round trip) every now and then. I've considered all of this to be training for hunting season this fall, and I'm really looking forward to it! Out at the family ranch where I deer hunt, it'll just be transport back and forth to the stand, if I kill something I'll ride back to the house and get my truck to haul it out, but I'm also planning on hitting some public land to go after pigs, and in case of success there, I'll be cutting the pig up in the field, and using the backpack to haul it out.

I have often thought that a bike would be perfect for hunting public land. Typically my spot is about a 1.5 to 2 mile walk and by the time I get there I am already sweating and stinking. That bike would be huge on eliminating not only sweat but making it a 10-14 minute ride vs 35-40 minute walk. i think it is a win win!
GO TRUMP!

The electric ones are cool but man they are pricey. I can still walk miles and miles thankfully but sometimes need to get in and out faster. I'm picking one up tomorrow and will start putting foam tires on it and a gun rack and small light. Should be riding along next weekend I hope.

I would spend my money on good forehead band type light rather than one to mount on the bike.

An electric bicycle conversion kit will run from about $400 to $800, I think the fat tire bikes are the best choice, but a good mountain bike can be picked up used for less than a $100.

I have been setting up my mountain bike to be a mobile stand for riding lease roads for hog hunting. I toyed with it last year with good results. Cover some major ground, very quiet, and with a cover net it provides a very good blind with shooting rest. I have an eberlestock mainframe I carry my rifle with.

I will try to get a pics of the pack and bike for you.
My bike is simply a red Giant mountainbike with a toddler seat on the back. I quarter all of my animals using the gutless method in the field, put them in game bags, strap them in and ride them out, deer included. My system is in no danger of being stolen and marketed by cabela's but it works for me. ha. Throw your choice of camo net/tarp over the bike for impromptu cover.
I plan on upgrading to a fat tire bike in the future but, like mentioned before, they are pricey.

I'm thinking solid foam tires. I'm not near as worried about the deer being used to it as I am spooking off the hogs. They get hunted pretty hard and are wired, that's why I usually don't drive in but it's a 30 minute walk to my good spot. I think they are cheap enough I'm gonna give it a whirl if nothing else I can ride around the neighborhood with my AR strapped on it and see what kind of hood rat stuff I can do. Buy thorn resistant tubes, and the Kevlar tires. Spend the few extra dollars on that and you will spend less time fixing flats. https://www.amazon.com/PACK-Money-Saver-...t+bicycle+tubeshttps://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Terrain-B...tain+bike+tires The man def knows what he's talking about. There are Kevlar impregnated liners you can put in the tire between the inner tube and tire that's damn near bullet proof. I have a Cannondale Jekyll Lefty that's light, nimble, and can cover a lot of ground quickly. I used to use it quite a bit for scouting and getting some excersize in the process. The caveat being if you're fit and in decent shape.
