Whoa there cowboy. Not so fast. Yes we can destroy some pests but it's not as simple as calling a hunter. Some animals require a permit others require nothing. And I don't know a single farmer that calls anyone to do their dirty work for them. There is also a matter of draws for legal big game which restricts one to a single wildlife managment unit. You can't just hunt anywhere. I know you are new to hunting so maybe it'd be a good idea to ask before you tell othoers what you think is true. BTW, why are you asking about hunting in Texas, on Alberta Outdoorsman you claimed you had hunted hogs in Texas did you not? As I recall you claimed you hunted them down here before you hunted anything bigger then a rabbit in Alberta. What gives? Is Texas like Alberta that you can go any hunt anywhere there is crown land? I think it's federal land in the USA. I know that we can hunt here for problematic animals even when there is no season. So we an even hunt deer, bear, cougar, wolf, boar, elk and moose if they are wrecking farm land. Most farmers just call hunters and get the job done. To hunt on public land in Texas I think I read somewhere you need special permits? I have guns at my cousins house in Fulshear, lots of hogs there but all walk through the neighbourhood in Weston Lakes... ta HF...

Am sure they'll get Walker , hes a famous Ranger ... kinda a twist, sounds like your hunting a poacher ... While my alien body parts have limited my hunting, they made a joke of workmans comp & was denied disability... Gonna have ta check out the web site... Have deen few shows of a en who hunts up their, hes got a ranch in but not every thing in is bigger.. From Min.. they laughed & made fun of me at the foundry, when told hunters... deer are alot bigger farther North ya go... as pappy says: tis tough seperating the from the rest of the crap ... Money talks can do some swape hunts on here.... i prefured the do-it-yourself WMA hunts...

So is this feller just a nice Canuck saying howdy or a crook who wants to rape/pillage my land? if you are the former. if you are the latter.

Im getting the feeling both these fellers are clowns First post of this thread. December 11 2016 If anyone could tell me how I could start hunting hogs in Texas when I come down into the Katy area, that would be greatly appreciated. Alberta Outdoorsman, thread titled Boar, December 17 2014 Also I have hunted in Texas but not with the guides. It is $150 for the first 100 pounds and then after that its $150 per pound. Also Texas has lots of private land now so people pay close to 450,000 a year for a plot of land to shoot deer. Alberta Outdoorsman, thread titled " Hunting Alligators in the US" September 11 2016 I go to Houston very often and most of the time I just make friends at the academy in Katy. They take me hog hunting and gator hunting for free. But then I take them saltwater fishing so its a trade . The wetlands by Fulshear, Sugarland, Surfside and even Montgomery are all good for gators. Alberta Outdoorsman, thread titled Heli Hogging in Houston Texas, November 22 2016 I shot from a heli with a few friends with AR-15's. It was a private helicopter though so I cannot refer any guides or charters but the area West of Houston ( Fulshear and Sealy were infested) They even barge into the gated community I lived at (Weston Lakes) through the Brazos river. That's just the tip of the iceberg.
Do for yourself as much as you can, eat what nature provides as much as you can. This is the key to sleeping well and living long.

I think Hogwart has outed his huckleberry... Thanks! Mod's should keep an eye out for "Glozz" to open a new account under a different name.

Welcome, eh I wish this stereotype would stop haha. Only natives talk like that, and possibly Newbies... And maybe the odd redneck.... And the odd visiting American haha. FIFY

Hogwart has been banned many times on the Alberta forum for bullying people and outright lying. He is diagnosed with a few mental conditions and everyone knows him on the forum for what he is. Some hobbit that moved out into the bush and gets cabin fever from time to time. If I seriously was some poacher as he claims, tell me how I would know a fair bit about Katy? The person he claims I am, is some 50 year old feller that takes Americans guiding for bears illegally with no license. All I am is a 24 year old kid who is married to a Texan lol. He has gone as far as looking me up and finding me here, who has that much time on their hands? Any who, I have actually found land to hunt. Near Bowser road west of Weston Lakes. Right on the Brazos, they come from time to time onto a friends property. If you guys want a great gun range close to Houston/ Katy hit up Cory at Brazos River Sportsman's Club.

So Gloszz has some mental issues? Wallabydarn. No unfortunatley I don't haha. Sometimes I wish I did because the social safety net here is so good I could be lazy and just hunt and fish.

Something smells like feedlot alley in southern Alberta. Not sure which one of them at this point.
