I have seen a few of these in a small lake we fish. Not sure what it is. Seems to be thicker than most perch. Educate me.

Warmouth, might be some green sunfish in the genetics too. Panfish cross like crazy

I'd call it a bluegill but it's not exactly like the ones we catch. The bluegill around here have some orange coloring on the belly.

would agree with TexasKC looks more like a blue gill... Picture of a Perch, not the best...  Blue gill  just looked at pic of warmouth  never heard of that...

We call em goggleye in Louisiana, but it's also known as a warmouth. We've also always called what some people call perch bream or bluegil or sunfish. Oh and let's not forget down here we call crappie sacaulait. Lol

Googled warmouth. That definetly looks like my fish. Thanks. I guess they must have stocked some in our lake a few years ago. Never saw them before that.

Use to catch them all the time when I was in the Army at Fort Hood! They are very good eating and can get pretty big too!
