I have a Travel Star for sale in the classifieds, prob not what you are looking for. But, Starcraft is the parent company and they use metal tube for the walls and roof instead of wood studs. Along with the 1 piece fiberglass exterior walls and roof. It's held up for 11 years pretty damn good

I have a flagstaff 23fb we bought new in 14. They are made by Forrest River I believe. It has traveled quite well and we use it 10-12 times a year. It has been mostly trouble free with a few exceptions. A lot of the white plastic pieces on the exterior have or are turning yellow. The exterior outlet cover, water input receptical, electrical cover, cable cover, finder skirts, etc.. I've replaced almost every inch of the plastic weather striping that runs the perimeter of the camper due to "dry rot" and cracking. This stuff is 3 years old and literally desinegrates in you hand. I lost a retractable roof vent that had to be replaced, a door handle on the screen door snapped off and the plastic seal around the shower door came off. Most of this stuff is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.
As far as major components, running gear, electrical systems, appliances, etc..they have all been reliable. Overall construction is good but as you would expect, many of the interior pieces are cheap..drawer pulls, blinds, fixtures, countertop laminate, etc.
We keep it stored under covered parking with a fitted cover over it and have still had UV issues. That's my input on flagstaff brand.

From my experience, all of the brands make a quality model and a budget model. I would personally stay away from the models that are 'Light" or "Ultra Light". Also, check the condition of the roof.

Airstream ... https://www.airstream.com/travel-trailers/ ... could be the last trailer you ever have to buy (you can't afford another one) unless you want a different floorplan. Built to last ... no, I don't have one, but would love too. other noteworthy are Grand Design, Forest River, Gulfstream, Winnebago

Quality- look at Lance travel trailers, they are more, but have solid interior walls, fit and finish is great- no seam tape where walls, roof meet
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Anyone have experience with the work and play toy haulers? Seems like heavier duty construction and a better roof than most travel trailers I've seen.

I have a 2011 FR Work and Play 25ULA toyhauler. I've pulled loaded with 2 motorcycles, or with Mule loaded inside. Metal roof and bedliner type floor in main living area. Very nice trailer. They are billed as 1/2 ton towable, and I did pull with 1500 Hemi, but bigger is better.
I am currently building a barndominium that should be done in early September. As soon as complete I plan to sell the TT, so if anyone looking for a deal, but can wait til then, let me know. Always stored inside, but did get some roof dings from hail while camping, but does not affect performance. Other than that, clean.

Have you thought about buying a enclosed trailer and convert inside with bed and whatever else you want in a trailer? It would also be a toy hauler. That's what I am thinking about doing. I am looking at a 16 x 8 x 7 Texan Cargo trailer and having them add AC, electric, insulation at the factory. Just another idea.

In the less than 30k category check out the Zinger. I have owned a Mallard and a Forest River, both had issues either uncomfortable or prone to breakage. I bought a 33 footer in April and we lived in it for 4 weeks while looking for a house with 3 teenage girls and we all survived.
I hunt with 2 Guys with 40k plus campers and they like the Zinger more than theirs. Theirs has the same common living needs and then worthless crap like a fireplace that is just for looks. None of them have good mattresses that is for sure.
One bit of advice check out as many models as you can and know what you want to look at before you get there and harassed by sales guy.

Back in the 80's, I needed a TT for a new lease. I found a 26 foot 1966 Airstream Overlander for a reasonable price. We kept it till about 2009, give or take a few years. It was a great purchase and after all those years I sold it for $1000 more than I paid for it. Things had to be fixed and stuff had to be replaced as the years went by, but I was able to do the work (mostly). My suggestion is to buy something that will last, like my old Airstream. The reason I sold it for more than I paid was that the new owners wanted to restore it and travel the US. Buy something that has worth for a restoration and it will hold value better than those not worth restoration. I confess that I didn't know that when I bought it. Luck of the Irish, I suppose.

best investment you can do is build a covered canopy to put it under... The sun and weather in Texas are a B---- on travel trailers...Or put it in storage during the offseason.....
