As I've shared before I'm looking for a place in the hill country. So far my dollars won't buy what my eyes desire! When I leave Louisiana I'm going to miss walking out my back door and throwing a buzzbait for breakfast!

Very nice, but you'll be in Texas and you may be able to walk out your back door and see a herd of axis!!

I live in SW Louisiana but would move to Texas yesterday if my wife would uproot. So I go through a lot of rubber going to TX at minimum once a month for 5+ days per trip.

There are a few places in Texas where you can throw a buzz bait for breakfast.

My lease is about 5 minutes from choke canyon but I never took time to try my luck at fishing it.

I spent 27 years in Slidell but have been in Texas for more than a decade. I love the hunting here, but I still miss the Honey Island Swamp, specks at the old Hwy 11 trestle, and flounder off the mud flats just North of Ft Pike. Nothing like'm in North Texas. What I don't miss is dealing with the humidity and multiple tropical storms or hurricanes every season!
