I assured her that's just part of hunting. She's been persistent that she wants to kill her hog. Saturday evening at dusk we returned to Hamilton County from an all day affair in Austin celebrating my niece and nephew's birthdays. Also watched them play soccer. 4 year old and 8 year old soccer sure is fun to watch.  Anyway, we returned to the ranch house and a lone boar was at the feeder behind the house. We snuck around some brush and stepped out into sight of the boar. She shouldered the AR and boom! Boar runs off but he was hit. She was disappointed but I promised to look for the boar on Sunday. Well, you see below what we found in the daylight Sunday. The boar went about 50 yards. Not bad for 1 free-handed shot behind the shoulder while holding a heavy stainless barrel!  Saturday night after she shot her hog, we went out on a little excursion. She was running the light and spotted a pig. I tried to cut the pig off to keep the pig in the coastal on her side. The pig made it through a fence and was on my side. She held the light perfectly over the cab of the truck and bam bam bam until the hog was in the dirt.  Now the hunt is on for a picturesque hog kill! I think "blessed" is an understatement
