I have only been hunting in TX for a few years, but I had my first run in with an angry sal while turkey hunting Sunday. The 3 1/2 inch Winchester Long Beard took care of business at about 7 yards.

I was turkey hunting some years back outside of Brady and had an encounter with a hog.

I had three long beards strutting out in front of me about 70 yards out.
All of a sudden they hall azz and hear a noise off to my left.
I looked that way and see a boar headed towards me at a fast clip.
I swung my shotgun around and shoot him face about 20 yards from me but that didn't slow him down. He turned once he got within 5 yards of me and I shot him in the neck killing him.
