I've made myself pretty clear about my taste for home grown tomatoes. My upcoming lunches will be tuna salad with a big slice of a home grown tomato. I use mayo, onion, and sweet relish, with canned tuna. Do you guys have anything new to add?

Deli style sweet pickle relish has bigger pieces, that's what I use.

Also either chopped celery or apples. And no mayo, Miracle Whip for me.
It is a salad after all.

That's the second time today. A lady at Walmart told me the same thing.

Add just one dash of paprika.

Speaking of chicken salad, our H-E-B deli makes the best I've ever had.

Always finely diced boil eggs and finely diced celery. Not a lot on the celery, but it's really good. Sliced fresh tomatoes and crispy iceberg lettuce round it out for perfection.

Same here.

Tuna
Diced onions
Diced pickles
Little diced celery
Chopped Eggs
Miracle Whip
Mustard
Salt
Lots of black pepper

I've never put lettuce or tomato on one, always just tuna salad on bread. I like to have a big bowl of cut up home grown maters on the side with a little salt.

best tuna salad I ever had, friend made from fresh tuna. He always said what was in the can was not good tuna.

That is correct. There is no comparison between canned and fresh. When I have fresh tuna they get steaked out and grilled/pan seared w/butter/or blackened. Left overs get shredded for tuna salad.

I like all what Bill puts in but with the added chopped eggs, salt and pepper. I've never had it made with fresh tuna but would love to try it.
