I finally got around to applying for my Kansas non resident deer permit.
Anyone else hunting Kansas this year?
We have our fingers crossed that we get drawn.

This will be the first year in the last nine that I won't be there come deer season...I'm already depressed about it

I have loved hunting up there and will again on down the road. Different style of hunting and your right, those big bodied deer get in your blood.

I plan to go again for muzzle loader season. Looking forward to a good year this time after getting screwed by the weather last year.

Haha, very true. These deer on my wall are all East TX deer. Never saw a deer in SW KS.

2018 public land for me. I have something I want to try.

Draw results for non-residents will be posted online on the KDWP website at the end of May and successful bids will be mailed out in June. We farm and ranch in Unit 2 and will be looking for a couple archery or rifle hunters for the 2017 season. Must have a Unit 2 tag and mostly mulies and a few whitetails. Just received over a foot of spring snow so things are looking good.

1st year for me to put in. Looking forward to it.

While your odds of getting drawn are very good, if any of you guys don't, keep watching the agency's website for leftover tags. When they do go on sale, you gotta be Johnny-on-the-Spot as they'll sell out quickly. You may not get the exact unit you wanted, but it may still get you close, or at least give you some other options.
