Do turkey come down from the roost after it is already light out? I hear them gobble when it is still dark. I have been trying a soft yelp just before sunrise when I hear them gobble. I can hear them and they appear to be less than 50 yards off, but I never see them.

Fly down time seems to vary. I've seen them hit the ground just as it's light enough to see and just like this morning, it was 10 minutes to 8 when I watched a Tom hit the ground. They usually start to gobble just as it starts breaking day. That's how I locate them and gives me time to move in and set up.
