Can be electric, prefer solar, prefer cheap..... I'm dreaming of something like a sump pump, sprinkler, hoses, cord to either a battery or a converter/solar or ???

Neighbor down the road from us has a windmill aerator. No idea of the cost but I'm sure you could Google it.

Investigate pumping air, not water. It is more efficient at turning over the water column when you bubble air at the bottom.
Read up on the pond boss website.

My normal response: Fountains are like race horses and beauty contest winners. They are expensive, pretty to look at and don't do a lick of work.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Tim Makes sense, a fountain would increase evaporation too.

Tim x2 how far is pond from house/shop/electric? unless ground is rock, use subsoiler to quickly/easily lay hundreds of feet of cheap poly tubing (to carry AIR) from 110v electric air pump (koi pond type) at house to pond ...

Think a gas powered air compressor would work? Weigh down an opened end air hose and sink it?

Use air pump and diffusers from aerobic septic system.
There's only 2 seasons in a year. Deer season and getting ready for deer season.
