Been hunting a good amount with the wife and opening day i didnt have as clear a shot as her and let her take the first bird at 10 yards. BIG MISTAKE

had a weird hematoma growth on his face also

Third hunt of the year we are calling for a few hours in the afternoon and i move off towards where i heard a few gobbles. As soon as i leave she has a tom come to the box call. I run back and sit and watch as another tom struts the road and fights the decoy giving her a perfect 25 yard shot.

Starting to wonder if i will even get a bird this year? confused2

Patience is difficult some times when turkey hunting but often pays off. Right now you are just letting the wife get the birds, not such a bad thing to do.

I do enjoy the time together, especially since my dad has trouble hiking on a hurt leg and going solo is not near as fun. Have to brag on her she has learned a lot from me. The last bird she didnt move or get antsy at all and waited until the gobbler turned to the decoy and blocked his view of her with his tail fan then she moved and positioned herself for the shot. Now to see if she can get one with a bow next year

Second bird pics:

Have to see what this weekend has in store
