Looking at high fencing about 360 acres of the ranch and stocking some Kudu, Nyala and Impala. What would be a reasonable price to expect to pay for male and female middle aged animals? Not looking for trophy grade animals at this point as they will mainly be for observation.

Also, what would be a decent price for pure Persian ibex?

At the fall YO auction Impala females brought $1800 Males $1900. Nyala Male $2700. Kudu, I must have been getting a beer and did not write it down. Ask Arron Gage about price for Persian Ibex.

My wife takes good notes at auctions.

The species you list are all in high demand now. Females of those species are crazy high now. At the EWA auction in march ther was only one impala female. Sold as a yearling pair with a male they went for $4200 each. The males sold separately went for an average of 2300 as yearlings. 2 males 2 to 3 yo went for 3550 each.

3 yo nyala male went for 5750. 2yo went for avg of 3750. There were no females but I'm sure they would have been high.

2-3yo kudu female went for 14,500. 1.1 yearlings went for 8000 ea. 2 yo males went for 4600 avg.

Just for grins, 2 yearling sable cows went for 17500 ea.

Virtually all super exotics are at record pricing now for a couple of reasons. It is my opinion that a good number of deer breeders are opting out of deer for something the state won't ruin their business over (they already have the infrastructure.

Also we've had great rain the last few years so everyone is stocking up.

And Brian Gilroy's "wildlife partners" investment group (along with a few super ranches) are buying all the super exotics that become available.

It's great if you already have stock. Sucks if your trying to start herds.

Like all things that have to do with exotics. You can either make a bunch of money or you can loose a bunch. It is all timing. Look what happened to the ostrich market. At one time they were bringing $30,000 a pair. At the YO auction a pair brought $3400. Same with Emus and Pot belly pigs. Now you can barely give them away. If you can get in at the right time and get out at the right time you can do good. Also a lot of the time some of this stuff is very hard to raise. Either from death to them or a danger to you. Why do you think prices are so high for certain animals. If it were easy they would be a dime a dozen.

We've been talked out of the African horned animals because our winters get too cold. Looking at red stag and other antlered exotics now
