The owl in one of our deer stands had a clutch of eggs in there and they hatched. Man those are some ugly babies!

I think they're kinda cute. If you wanna see ugly babies, look at some of my in-laws kids from Arkansas. They don't ask the doctor if it's a boy or a girl. They ask if it's a sheep or a goat.

be careful when you clean that out. take precautions so you don't get sick. wear a mask and long cloths. I've had to do it.

Yeah after these fly the nest we will be cleaning out and sealing up the stand. IT is gross! The owls were roosting in it last year and my dad still used it and ended up getting ring worm on his leg  We will be suited up and using bleach to clean it out before putting up screen.

go ahead and burn that stand! . . . . ^ ^ ^ ^ you'd be way ahead to. with all the time and money used cleaning it out and disinfecting you can have a new one nearly done. chalk it up to lesson learned.

Looks like a runt in the lower right... Hope it makes it. They ARE pretty awesome birds. Like don k, I raised one (50 years ago, down in Corpus). Fed him chicken necks from the store and live trapped English sparrows. He loved to be petted, especially rubbing his forehead feathers.   Right now I'm watching this pair. They had three eggs on the floor of this old blind a month ago.
