I purchased a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 400 HO a few weeks ago. I was really happy with the purchase and I think it's what I need for the lease. However, since the purchase I've had two major issues with Polaris.

First, (and I'm sure you've heard this before) the location of the battery is brutal. It's down low between the front two wheels. It's impossible to get to. When I need to change the battery it's going to be an absolute beating.

Second, and more frustrating, is that I ordered a front brush guard as well as a rear rack extender from Amazon. For both parts, I first went to the Polaris website to make sure those specific parts would fit my make and model. The Polaris website said they did. I then ordered both parts off of Amazon. The problem is that when both parts arrived neither fit my ATV. I called Polaris to confirm that these parts did indeed NOT fit my ATV. They confirmed that both parts didn't fit but their website said they did in error. I explained to them that when I returned both parts I had to pay shipping plus a 15 % restocking fee. All in, I'm out about $150 because Polaris' own website was wrong. I asked if they could give me a credit and I will purchase the right rear rack extender from their website (assuming they could tell me the correct part # to order) but they refused to do anything of the sorts. I'm pretty frustrated and pissed off. I guess the moral of the story is to buy Honda.

Terrible customer service. Any company can make mistakes; it's how they handle those mistakes that separates the men from the boys.

Bingo.

I love my polaris but their customer service does suck. I will never buy a new one from them, that's for sure. Mine is a 94 looking to upgrade soon

I agree with the "buy a honda" part. Polaris REALLY needs to improve in the customer service department.

correct me if I'm wrong.
some parts were ordered from one place that are wrong,
and you're wanting a refund from a different company
where nothing was bought from ?

He is saying that because the Polaris website is wrong, he had to pay return shipping and a restocking fee on the parts he bought.
Polaris should do something to fix this problem if they truly cared about their customers.

Exactly. Not sure what about my post was confusing.

I had to read it twice to get it correctly, the first time I read it I thought you were asking for Polaris to take back the parts even though you bought them somewhere else but I read it wrong obviously.
A happy customer is a life long customer. Too bad companies chose to not care about their customers anymore.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall for some of these conversations. I have given some people some pretty chitty customer service when I didn't have to because they came in pizzed off and loud about it. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it just makes you madder.

hope you get it figured out.
