Anyone in the Benbrook area want to do some light carpentry work. I have built a prototype stand for 55 gallon barrels and need someone who does much better work then I do to take it and build me 4 of them. PM if you would be interest in making some extra money. Thanks

Are these stands for kennel barrels? If so, can you post some pics or plans?

Simpler to tell you than go through getting the pics on here, it's two pieces of 2x4 held together with a bolt. Then adjusted till the barrel will be at the right height and a second bolt put in to keep them from moving. A set of two of these for each barrel. It would be better if they were rounded to fit the shape of the barrel but as they aren't it would take a screw through the barrel into the stand to keep it stable or a 2x4 between them to stabilize. It's not anything that is an ideal solution and I'm not good a building anything so looking for some one to build these or a better solution.

I hang my kennel barrels with cables or chains. I had to because I had 2 crazy pointers that chewed up 2x4s. Much better than any stand if you have something to hang it from.

Bill, if I were closer, I would do it for nothing.

I have mine hanging from chains now. Never had an issue til I brought home the pointer pup. She likes to get up and down on top of the barrel. I'm afraid she may get a leg hung up

One problem is the height of the front of the barrels which needs to fit the holes I have cut in the fencing for the current wood dog houses. The K9s are too tall (I think). And all I need is the stand and not the piece on top or the door etc.

Just got a call and think I'm going to try and build a rectangle out of landscape timbers but if anyone wants to make a $ or two let me know, would like a more professional job than I usually do.

I make my frames out of 3/4" square tubing with a roof on top made out of 1 x 6 lumber. They last forever and give place for dogs to lay on top. I also frame out the hole on the barrel with angle iron so they cant chew them. Would post pics but dont know how. I would build you some like them for about 80 bucks

Chet, I just bolted my barrels together through the kennel panel and through the back. Works great, I can spray under the barrels for cleaning.

Thanks for all the suggestions and replies. I decided on the square tubing solution and excited to get them. Coyotehunters on the forum is building them and with the steel frame, plastic barrel, and mental around the door they should last forever.

Thanks coyotehunters. Here's the first one.

Those are really nice. One question though, if they are going outside of your kennel, why the board on top?

Keeps the sun off them a little bit and a place to set my beer. (and if I ever build new runs I'll put them inside the run)
