At home. Any home. I'll go first. My wife and I went crabbing off a pier somewhere south of New Orleans.
We boiled the crabs and picked them saving the lump meat. The next night I made a crab stuffed eggplant. I never did it again simply because there is no way to improve on perfection.
You go next.

Obviously a hard one Bill. As a kid growing up mom would cook us whatever we wanted for our birthday dinner. I would always have her fix beef tips that were in a brown sauce with bell peppers, onions and whatever magic ingredients she put in it, then pile it over egg noodles I still miss it

Without a doubt my mom's pan fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy. It has been fourteen years since I last had it.

My Grandma's shrimp gumbo and Granddad's blue crabs boiled in the backyard. Southern Mississippi cooking. It's been 46 years ago but man I can still taste it.
Lately it's my Brisket and Ribs.

I don't know if I could limit it to one thing.
Off the top of my head would be bbq brisket. The three best ones I have ever had... First was several my uncle cooked for my brothers confirmation party, second was one I cooked in college for a party, third was ones my wife's uncle cooked for our wedding.

Another best for me was Snapper Ponchartrain at a friends beach house, after an offshore trip. We had some fresh picked crab meat and shrimp off a shrimp boat. I boiled the snapper throats to make my stock, pan fried the snapper fillets in butter, plated them, and added the stock with Madeira wine, along with the shrimp and crab meat.

My Mom made the best fried chicken I have ever had. Maybe it is because she is no longer here but I will never get fried chicken as good as hers. Yesterday would have been her birthday. She was as good a woman and Mother as anyone would ever want.

This one is difficult because I love food. I want to say fresh fried speckled trout as a kid after staying up all night catching them and cooking the next day when it was freezing out.....but I guess it would have to be the first time my Mom fed me deer chili. Was 5 or 6 yrs old, went hunting with my Dad and he shot another big S Texas buck. He schooled me on how to clean it and all that... We had picked Chili Tepin's and dried them (to this day my favorite pepper). Mom made that chili, and Dad showed me how to crumble those peppers over my bowl of chili. I was hooked and couldn't get enough (have always liked spicy), ate until I almost fell out of the chair. Lost my Mom when I was 8 but I can still see her face when she handed me that bowl, and then after I kept coming back for more she looked at me like good lord boy where in the world are you putting all of that! Best meal ever. Wish I had her recipe.

A New York strip of all things. Not the best cut for steaks but it was 3 years ago in Marathon Florida at the restaurant behind the motel right past BofA bank on the right headed South. Went and told the chef it was the best steak/meal I had ever eaten and thanked him for such a great meal. He told me they use nothing but triple choice prime. The place only had 8 or 10 entrees and if you were seated between 5 and 6 pm all meals were 19.95, we ate there 4 nights in a row and everything we ate was great but the steak a New York strip was the best.

My wife's biscuits, my Mom's dressing and my Grandmother's gravy for her signature SOS dish. The SOS (Sh*# on a Shingle) was gravy and hamburger meat served on Mrs. Beards white bread.
