Saw another turkey in Trinity county. Single bird, +- 10 inch beard. Large body. He was trying to find a mate or a friend. Heard him in numerous places. He didnt seem to mind being way out in the open. No pics. First bird of the year.

GW came by our place during hunting season. Told him we saw 3 different turkeys or the same guy 3 times last year. He said turkey season was closed for the next few seasons? So leave em be.

Yep...they just finished a super stocking in Trinity county last year, so there's no season for the next 3-5 years..depending on how the birds do. GW came by our place during hunting season. Told him we saw 3 different turkeys or the same guy 3 times last year. He said turkey season was closed for the next few seasons? So leave em be.

Its good to know they are stocking them, i would like more options for places to Turkey hunt

Right now Red River and Newton counties are your best bet. In the next 3 - 5 years Anderson and Cherokee counties could possibly have a season and be a pretty hot area for eastern turkey. Looking for a place in E. TX.
