My wife and I bought our first lab together 5 years ago. At first she was doing great on retrieving but she just lost touch, so our 70 pound chocolate lab became a lazy house dog. Well today we just got our second a 12 week old black lab. I'm going to try this once again on training this one to hunt, every since my lab Dixie went upstairs I've missed having a hunting companion. I've never had 2 labs in the same house before, how hard is it to have a training in progress pup and a 5 yr old lazy house dog under the same roof. I plan on doing most of the training at home with a help from some others at other locations. Has anyone been in the same boat?

I've got my 11 year old lab and my one year old. My old lab pretty much just ignored my pup and still does despite her attempts to persuade her to play. You need to make sure the new pup knows its place. I let my old dog eat first. I of course crate trained the pup but my old lab just stays out because she can be trusted. I take the pup out a lot just me and her to train but sometimes bring them both. I just have one in the crate or staked out while I run the other.

Depending on the dogs and the trainer it shouldn't be a problem.

I've had a lab in the house for the last 11 years. Once he finally dies I won't ever have another big dog that sheds all of the time inside, much less two.

Remi is the chocolate, raven is the black. And surprisingly my chocolate doesn't shed as much as you would think. We do have wood floors throughout so a quick sweep every day is no problem.

How about three? 2 Labs and a hunting Doodle.
Cappy ... At my side for thirteen years, in my heart forever.
