With baseball starting to crank up, you folks with little ones in baseball might enjoy this:

At one point during a game, the coach called one of 
his players aside and asked, "Do you understand what 
cooperation is? What a team is?"
"Yes, coach", replied the boy.

"Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose 
that we do it together as a team?"
The boy nodded in the affirmative.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an 
out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse the umpire, or call him an 
a$$hole. Do you understand all that?"
Again, the boy nodded in the affirmative.
The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so 
that another boy gets a chance to play, it's not a dumb-a$$ decision or that 
the coach is a $hithead is it?"
"No, coach."
"Good", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother."

Having coached Little League for about 10 years, I can attest to the truth of this story. I always said I would coach the rest of my life if they would put a brick wall around the field and make the parents and grandparents watch on closed circuit TV. The absolute worst were the dads who were third string players in High School and were living vicariously through their kids. They never, ever helped, but they sure liked to criticize our coaching.

redfred, you are right about parents/grandparents but it feels good when those tee ballers come to see you about 20 years later and want you to meet their families.
