What a morning. Jseago here on the forum, our friend William, and myself went out this morning. I was the only one who didn't go swimming. William tripped on a log and went down and jseago sunk his kayak. We also watched what we think was an otter swim up to and eat one of the ducks we had killed before we could get to it. All that was forgotten about when we saw the band on a duck that William and I had doubled up on. This was the first banded bird for both of us. Couldn't think of a nicer guy to share a banded bird with!

It's all about the adventure, the band gold plates it.

How'd yall decide who gets to keep the band?

He's going to get a replica band and put it on a woodie he already had to mount. The banded duck was in rough shape, but I'm going to see what the taxi says. I put both our names down on the band report so we should each get a card to go with the mounts. Both of us want the card more than the band.

I don't think they do the card anymore. They emailed the certifcate last time I got one.

Yes, I think they should email both of us. We're going to print them on card stock and make them look official.

On the last weekend of the season too. That's awesome. I've been chasing ducks around for 10 years and have yet to see a band.

That awesome. Ive shot 17 woodies this year, which isnt many, but well over 50 between a group of us and havent seen a band

Nice job. I shot a banded woodie last year year and it was my first band.

Some do and some don't on the Woodie migration. First banded duck I got was banded at Gus Engling, same place I killed it. This post is the second banded wood duck I have seen that was banded in MN
