Cowtown' s HT is up on hunt secretary. I just entered the seasoned level test for Saturday and Sunday. I'm already a little nervous. I wasn't nervous at all for started because it was so simple.
I think she should nail it as long as she doesn't blow the memory mark on the land double. About every 5 or 6 memory birds that are short (30-50 yards) she will blow right over them. She eventually circles back and picks it up. I don't anticipate any issues on the blinds, diversion or walk up. If she sticks the land memory birds I think we will run a clean a test.
It's not till March so we've got some time to work on it.

You've got time. If over running the short bird is a problem run some check down marks and you should be fine. Don't handle on marks in training and make sure she understands that it is her responsibility to mark the bird using whatever method you use. You'll be fine. Have fun.

I ran some doubles with check down marks this morning. I ran them as go birds and memory birds and she picked everything up with tight hunts or front footed them.
I ran 4 cold blinds (75-125 yards) as well which I never do since I'm still running patterns but she pretty much nailed those. She dug back on a couple overs on one blind but the others she did well.
We did a walk up with no issues and I threw a diversion bird a few times on her return with no issues.
I'll continue to progress with our patterns tomorrow and probably do some Y drill.

Robby I think I might try a derby once she can start running cheating memory marks. Due to weather I haven't put her through swim-by or cheating singles. Might be able to try one early fall.

I should get my pup out there. But I haven't even sent in her papers yet. I know. I know.
