Always bought cheap gas station sunglasses but looking to buy a good quality pair. Anybody care to opine on most durable, quality, warranty? Looking at Oakley, Wiley X, etc..

all of the big brand names are good unless you get a knock off. When I talked to the girl at the optometrist she said even cheap sunglasses will help.

Oakley. Been wearing them for 15 years and have never found anything more comfortable. Lots of options to choose from too. I've worn M Frames exclusively.

Oakley and Maui Jims are great but I'm thinking about some cheaper glasses for outdoors. Losing a pair of Oakleys is a chunk of change.

Might try shadyrays.com?

If you pay more than $40 for polarized sunglasses you're paying for a name.

My experience is the same as this guy's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX9s9kAJNs0

Ever notice that its difficult to see the numbers on your gas pump while wearing polarized glasses?

That's always been my thoughts on buying an expensive pair but the cheap ones scratch so easily. I wear contacts so they're almost a necessity when driving.

Don't know about that but do know you need to take them off in the topless joints cause it's hard to see the girls.

Yes. Also, If one person in the conversation is not wearing sunglasses, the other should remove theirs.

I have Maui Jims for driving. I always set them down or drop them when I'm outside doing stuff so I go with cheapos for that.

Nothing stereotypical about protecting your vision. I wear what works. M Frames provide additional lateral protection and suit my outdoor needs much better than the "modern" styles. I also wear contact lenses and they keep dust and pollen out of my eyes better than other lenses.

the longest pair of glasses I owned are some from home depot. Black sunglasses that are polarized. Very durable and scratch resistant. About 3 years now

Yup. I have had multiple pairs of Oakleys and Ray Bans and got a pair of Costas with 580g lenses a few years ago and they blow everything else away. The only downside is they are a bit heavier because of the glass lenses. I want to get a second pair with plastic lenses for trail running and hiking.

I recently added a pair of SMITH sunglasses and they are nice lenses. I probably wear Oakley more than anything though.

Costas 580 glass is the clearest but I don't like the weight and not crazy about glass for protection.
