Every time I come in to the property for a weekend of hunting the first thing I do is check the cameras. I'm assuming most of you do as well that employ them. Just curious if anyone feels that doing that (or topping off the feeders) spooks the deer for the afternoon hunt. If so, how long before you think your activities don't show up on the deers radar?

I usually check them every few weeks when I am leaving. Still like to be surprised but also like to know if there is any potential there.

The best buck I killed this year came out 1 hour after the LO flew over my blind in his helicopter about 50' off the ground. Then, a few minutes later, the ranch hand drove by the feeder on a 4-wheeler. bang

We run a dozen feeders. 'Can't check them all before a hunt. The first year, everyone was crazy about putting up a camera at each feeder. Since then, interest has waned and I'm about the only one that occasionally pulls a card and looks at it. 'Course, that's how I knew this buck was showing up at this less than ideal feeder.

Do whatever you need to do. You'll still see deer.

If I get there before noon. I check them. After I'll pull them after dark and/or the pig hunt.

I think a lot of depends on how much traffic is on your place normally. We have quite a bit of oil field traffic so us running around doesn't seem to have a whole of affect on the deer but I would suspect it would on a quieter place.

I check cameras at night when I get to the lease but that is it. I don't do any other work till I get ready to leave especially topping off feeders.

When I get to the lease I pull the cards from two stands at most and lay a bag of corn across 4 shooting lanes. I always see more deer than when I don't lay the corn out due to late arrival.

First and only thing I do is collect SD Cards to determine which stand I will hunt.

I pull them as soon as I can to see what is moving around. If not much activity no reason to hunt there.

As soon as I can, as long as it's not around feed time.

If I can get to it at least 15 minutes before it goes off for the afternoon hunt, then I'll pull it right when I get to the lease. If I am running behind on friday afternoon, then I don't pull the card until after the morning hunt on saturday. I've got a couple different setups so I like to check the cameras before I hunt, but I won't risk spooking deer if I can't get to it in time.
