We usually have a tradition on opening weekend of what we bring. I used to be the bacon wrapped dove guy, but been slim last few years. Now I'm the grilled shrimp scampi and smoked pork butt guy. We always eat like kings on the opener. The pot of campfire pintos are always awesome, but will make you leave the stand in a hurry.

We try to get a small pig in the freezer a few weeks before opening weekend and then bbq him whole. Some years we have to substitute a brisket.

Steaks Saturday night. Always have steaks on Saturday night. 2" bone in ribeyes this year. Depending on how the hog trap does, we'll either have pork or brisket for the rest of the week.

Breakfast is where its at.
After the hunt its a skillet scramble of eggs, venison sausage, potatos, jalepenos, and onions with a side of Grands biscuits covered in butter and molasses.

pulled pork for sammiches and then doing steaks and taters on sat evening - buddy is in charge of the omelettes for breakfast. Oh, and lots of beer...

I let my son decide for this weekend. Venison summer sausage, cheese and crackers for Friday evening. Salami sandwiches, Gatorade and Snickers bars on Saturday.

Big breakfast around 10:30 opening morning if I don't get a deer and then steaks around 7pm that evening if I don't get a deer. If I don't get a deer, I gain 10 pounds in two days of hunting...

They don't know it yet, but I'm bringing steaks for the whole crew. Hope the meat market is well stocked because there's going to be a bunch of us.

I don't go to the lease to associate/hang out with people so me and my son usually just take sandwich stuff and chips.

titan2232....lighten up a little. I understand if you don't know any of them, but you don't have to act like it's a job and done at the lease. lol I know 70% of them, but my hunting is about hunting. I'll share my game cam pics with anyone and let pretty much anyone hunt my stand. I don't need to be farting around every weekend at the lease. I hunt for a trophy every year and now that my son's almost 10 I'll let him start taking out the culls. Heck I'll probably get to the point to where him and my other two children are shooting all my deer

Ohh I don't fart around either. I just associate and eat with them. lol maybe drink a few beers at night before bed but not bulls... around. I just thought its hard to believe you wouldn't enjoy that.
