Has anyone dealt with birdworks lately? My boss took a pheasant 2 years ago and hasn't been able to get a hold of him for the past year.

Anyone know whats going on.

His shop caught on fire a few years ago. I'm pretty sure he doesn't take client birds anymore he's just teaching bird taxidermy, but I don't know how long it's been that way. I know he's on Instagram @blue_ribbon_birds

So I guess he will never get his bird back?

That's a tough spot your boss is in.
Had nearly the same experience with Birdworks 5 years ago.
Eventually got the bird 2 years later.

His shop didn't catch fire, just his dryer which he got burned a bit as well. Keep trying to get a hold of him. My buddy still takes birds to him but it is a slow process.

He's also been very sick lately. Type 2 diabetes I believe. He has a mount of mine he's supposed to be working on as well. He did tell me that after this bird I'd have to find someone else, and I've been using him for 6 years.

Droped off a bird and a deposit 4 years ago. I can't get a call back bird or money. He saw me coming.

Gotta love it!

I believe Matt has all but bailed out of the taxidermy business. Poor health. Personal problems. Cash strapped. A very talented guy who ended up like so many in that business.

That's a shame, he did great work back in the day. I had several ducks done by him and they all looked great. The last few birds took longer and longer - last one took me over 2 years to get back. That was the last time I used him, and that was a long time ago.

Hate it for you guys but I suggest y'all getting on Facebook and calling him out! He runs a taxidermy page on the Facebook named (waterfowl taxidermy tips, tricks, mounts & pics)! Nothing puts a fire under someone until they get called out in front of there peers!! Good luck to you guys!!
