I am in the market for some new truck tires. The research I have done points to the BFG K02. However, they are expensive. What are your thoughts on getting the General tires instead?

I have the General Grabber AT2's on my F-150 4x4 now. They are aggressive for an all terrain tire. I have 50,000 miles on them now and they have plenty of tread left to make it through hunting season. As long as you keep them rotated and balanced properly, they will last you longer than the tread warranty advertised. I will buy another set when these get replaced next year. I had a set on an F-250 and they had 70,000 before they needed to be replaced. So far I have been pleased with the 2 sets that I have owned. BASSHAWK

My dad had those in his old F150 and liked them, got around 50,000.
He now has a set of KO2's on his new F150 and seems to like them more. He said the ride is better, but that could also be the difference is trucks that were 13 years apart

I've run both. Had the general and they lasted well so I can't complain there. They were hard to keep balanced and got noisy as they wore down. I'm on my second set of ko2 now. Expensive yes but I get them at cost so not a big deal to me right now. First set I got over 40k out of and pulled them off with plenty of tread left and put On a friends truck that needed tires and had no money. He's got another 20k out of them and still going. They balanced better and seem to hold. Way better off road and ice and snow so far.

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like the BFG's are thought to be the top of the line for a reason. They are about $40.00 more per tire, I am buying 5 tires, so it is a difference of $200.00. I have decided to pay it.

Might try the Cooper ST Maxx. That is what I am going with when my OEM BFG ATs wear out. I have 72k on them now and probably could go 80k if it was spring and not coming up on hunting season.

I have had both. Hands down the BFG's. Never could get the Generals to stay in balance, The BFG's are better in the rain and overall better highway tire. I'm betting they are as good as the Generals off-road. Price difference was less than $200.00 at Discount Tire.

Cooper ST Maxx's sitting in my garage waiting for the BFG OEMs to wear out, maybe. I could not pass up the Labor Day rebates. Rebates on the ST Maxx is very rare. I got $135 off. I also bought a set of AT3s for daughters Jeep and got $160 of rebates.

Hard to beat BFG ko's for an all terrain.
I haven't tried the firestone a/t's, but I've had the m/t's on my jeep for about 10k miles now and would be hard pressed to go with anything else. Never had so much as a flat and I haven't skipped a day at the ranch since I got them. Gravel/caliche/cutting across fields, you name it.
If the a/t is anything like it as far as quality goes, I'd take a look at them otherwise the KO will always get my vote.

I'd get the cheaper of the two.

...they lasted...
They were hard to keep balanced and got noisy as they wore down. All of the comments applied to the two sets I had. I switched to Nitto Trail Grapplers. Balancing has not been an issue. But the Generals were on a different truck than the Nittos.
