Lori Ginn at Travel Express. She is the owner. Both her and her daughter are on top of things.
Gracey Travel is also good. Bigger outfit than Travel Express.

Steve Turner - Travel With Guns
Very well known.

If you have to overnight in Johannesburg, Africa Sky Guesthouse.

I would second Lori Ginn at Travel Express and also Gracey Travel. We had different clients that each used boht mentioned travel agents and they were very happy with the service they received. I would also highly recommend a rifle permit company if you were bringing your own weapon.

All the best and look forward to seeing the photos some time. If you don't mind me asking, which part of South Africa will you be hunting?

We'll be with Limcroma in the Limpopo Province.

I'll 2nd this recommendation. I've used Gracy and TWG a couple of times, and I'll take TWG every time.

So additional question: What is the benefit of a travel agent? From what I can see they're quoting rates straight off the airlines websites and charging $200 for booking the flights....I know some have said they'll have someone meet you there and walk you through when coming into the country but if we stay at Africa Sky they will meet you there handle getting your guns and transport you to their guesthouse for less than $200.

When the SHTF, and it happens much more often in Africa, you need to be able to contact someone that will handle re-arranging your flights. You don't want to try to be figuring out how to get on the internet while a scetchy dude is pestering you to "help" you with your luggage at the Johannesburg airport.

In my experience a travel agent won't save you any money, but they may save your [censored] if something goes wrong. Steve Truner @ TWG did that for us last year when a flight was cancelled at the last minute. He was on top of it and got me out of a jam.

I've stayed at Africa Sky, and will be there again this Friday night, Aug12th. It is a fantastic place. I had them handle my SAPS gun permits, VIP meet and greet, etc and it's well worth the very reasonable cost.

Definitely Steve Turner with TWG, every time for me for the above reasons. I also stay with Deidre at African Sky of our overnight.

Try not to overnight in Jo'burg if at all possible but if you do I would recommend Afton House. Bea Hewer was my travel agent that did save my @#$$ in 2011 when my local bank credit card wouldn't work in SA.
