My wife was given an old rifle/shotgun by her Dad. It's a Savage 24V series D over/under. .357 magnum over a 20 gauge shotgun. It has a selector on the hammer for which barrel you want to fire. Really cool looking shooter. It's not in perfect condition. Has been just a little neglected. Gave it a good cleaning and it's ready to try out. Everything functions well.

Many years ago, I had one in 20/222. Wish I still had it.

I'm hoping it's a fairly good squirrel / coyote gun combo. I'll find out this next weekend how she shoots.

That's an interesting combo of calibers. It'd probably make a great brush gun!

I collect Savage 24's. The only ones more scarce are the 22 Hornet/20 and the 357Max/20. They are cool guns guns. Hope you enjoy it.

Really neat combo. I've got one in 22/410 with a Tenite stock, I'm almost afraid to shoot it. That plastic is getting OLD!

IT's my favorite gun these days. It now has a rack in the golf cart, and on the Kubota tractor. Perfect for general varmints and pests. I think it would be a great turkey gun. And in 22LR/20 gauge, probably the cheapest to shoot.

Lots of kids around here have shot their "first" with this one.

I'm guessing the .357 mag round would be good out to about 75 yards or so.

I was thinking that the 357Max would have been a better choice than 357mag.

Very useful and cool gun. Inside 125 yards I feel as confident shooting deer and hogs with a 357 carbine as any caliber I have used. Most of the time at the lease the Marlin 1894 357 trapper is in it for occasions it might ne needed.

have never seen the 357 or 357max versions of the 24 for sale or there would most likely be one in the safe. One of my uncles had a 22 Hornet/20ga for a while but sold it.

You shouldn't talk like that... I'm fighting the urge to buy a 357 trapper!!

A 1894 in 44 mag will drop a white tail buck at about 100 yards.

That's a cool gun, my grandfather had one in 222 over ???? Seems like it was a 12 gauge because I remember the shells as red not yellow......

As much as I like mine, not going to try to talk anyone out of one.
