Dad just shot this one about 50 yards from the house. .357 magnum rifle. Dad said there were 5 sows with about 8 little ones apiece. They have really been rooting up the place here.

So, this came up on the other forum. It was described as "wet" because it was nursing and this would make it taste awful. Is this the case? Is it not nursing? Does it not matter?

Asking because I'm interested in getting into hog hunting for meat.

My experience with eating hogs that could be nursing is that they taste just fine. Also shot a few with unborn piglets, the sow tasted fine.

Good shootin. They will destroy a hayfield very fast and as you describe, you can't kill em all. They multiply too fast.
