Very nice, but if he tries to sell them, don't be surprised if Disney doesn't come after him for not having any sort of license to market their trademarked products. I've heard that they can be very aggressive. ...in that case, he can just give me one.... ...or call it the death schtar.... ...either way...that is greatness!!

Great responses, everyone. I showed them to my friend, Jacob and he was stoked to hear the feedback.
To answer a couple questions - he's looking to get about $5,500 (or best offer), and will deliver it for around $0.50/mile - he's located in Austin.
This one will not rotate. He thought about it, but most people haven't wanted/needed that feature before. He can do it for future ones if someone wants a custom one with that option though. There are orientation tabs on the inside of the pit where the grills sit on, where you can remove the grill area as you please for easy clean out. Not sure if the pics clearly show that as a removable piece.
I'm going to help him get a website up and running soon, to feature some of his other work. He makes everything from tables and chairs to custom sculptures and hanging signs for the entrances to ranches. He can also do fire pits with ranch names/logos, animal outlines, etc. If you are interested, he can work something out with you. I'll post the pics/website when it is all complete.
If you are interested in this piece, let me know and I'll forward you his contact.
Cheers! ~George Blitch

That's awesome but unfortunately out of my price range. The ones on etsy don't look near as cool either.

Just got in touch with Jacob - he says the one pictured in this thread is 43" in diameter, and it made of mostly 1/4" steel, with some areas being 3/8".
The ETSY one seems to be a thinner metal, but I haven't confirmed that yet. I've seen some other ones that are between these prices, but I think this one is a better build, personally. They also add $600 for the shipping, as they are in New Mexico.
This is his first Death Star pit, and he put a lot of time and thought into it. While it may be a bit more than the Etsy one, I bet it would outlast it. I've seen 1/8" fire pits not last as long as some thought they would in the elements.
Again, he said, "or best offer." Worst that could happen is he says no if someone made an offer.
Either way, I'm impressed!
and SniperRab - I think my straight lines would also look very similar to these!
