This is a few years back but still fun to see the progression. The first video is of him at age 4. The next pictures are of him at age 5 - we found one side of his shed and measured it and came up with 175 inches as a nine point. Letting a 175 inch 9 point walk was no easy task. We were in the middle of a horrible drought but he put on 26 inches that year. We got him on trail camera and I got video of him before the season started while he was in velvet. Deer of a lifetime. VIDEO AT AGE 4 STILL PICTURE AT AGE 5 - 175 INCH 9 POINT VIDEO AT AGE 5 STILL PICTURES AT AGE 6 - 201 INCHES VIDEO AT AGE 6 THE FINAL PRODUCT!

Gulp. Very nice and good things eventually come to those that take the chance on letting a special deer walk another year. Congrats.
Let'em grow old

Great progression on a really great buck. One thing I have learned is there no "genetics" added to any feed label. Bucks like that are special and rare due to them having the genetics to grow that big. I am one to always think what could a deer like this have done if he had the benefit of some normal rainfall years throughout his life if he did that in a drought year.

Symmetry, mass, character, length and even width. He's got the total package. Congratulations!

I agree - end of the day genetics takes the first spot. Someone told me years ago that if you want to kill a big deer (or any other animal) you have to start by finding an area where there are big animals. Find where the good genetics are and then work your rear off to capitalize and improve what mother nature provided - we are very very fortunate to have found an area with the genes. Thanks for letting me share -

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.
