Will be the outcome of this cold, wet weather? Assuming we were hot into the rut here in NW Texas, do we think if the deer have been hunkering down that they may be still going till say next weekend? Curious as to the theories out there, what's yours?

As soon as this incessant rain stops, it should be ON again.

I hate to say it but biology is biology, and estrus cycles don't pause for rain and cold. If the doe didn't get bred during their cycle this month, they will cycle in about 28 days and there will be a second rut.

Look for some increased activity in another 3-4 weeks as doe go hot again.

Of course this is assuming the cold and rain prevented the doe from being bred. As I said above, cold and rain don't stop biology and my guess is the bucks found the doe and bred them given the conditions.

We'll see in another couple weeks. The bucks could be very ragged by then.
