I'm passing on going out now with the amount of rain they are calling for in my area. I'm pretty sure if they are correct they won't be moving that much at all.

If your lookin at an all day everyday down pour then no they probably won't move much, if it's a light rain and or just a heavy rain once a day for an hour or so with little to no rain the rest of the day then yes they will probably be up and moving. It all depends on how much rain you get and how windy it is.

I will definitely be out... some of the best hunting is in between light rain when its cold out!I guess it does depend on your forecast though. Nothing worse than sitting in a stand for hours during a down pour. Either way good luck!

Opening weekend in east Texas we had good luck the morning after the gulley washers stopped. Everything was up and moving around to get warm and eat after hunkering down during the rain.

last year we had crazy winds on a day I got off early several people told me not to go.. I went anyway and right before dark the wind calmed down and my 8 pt stepped out and took him... I have seen several deer move this year during rain.

Predicting deer movement during the rain is about like trying to predict the rain itself. I have seen deer on days with light rain or intermittent showers especially when it's cold. Heavy downpours are a different story all together.

Sitting in tripod getting wet. Fog is a real problem right now. Ain't going to kill one in camp though.

Yep, will be out tomorrow in full force, usually see deer during these conditions, if wind
blows alot, deer here will be spooky near the brenham area. But light rain is good.
Seems rut started here about week ago, saw young 8pt, chasing does already, so all
is good here near Blue Bell country....

hunt safe all....

My lease in Montague Co is under water with deep mud. Can't get to my stand even if I wanted to.

Hunted NW Montague Co. This evening, pouring down and windy. Saw 2 does scooting along a hillside and that was it. Have had good hunts in the rain before, but rain and wind together does not seem to be a good combination. I think it will be great Sunday evening.

Looks like I timed the surgery right.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.
