Cows have never bothered me while hunting. This morning I had 3 does at the feeder at LST. I'm watching them for a solid 20 minutes when I see big horns coming through the brush on a bee line to the feeder. I put the binos down, pick up the rifle, big black damn cow parked itself about 50 yards away DIRECTLY between me and the feeder. She stands there for about 10 minutes, enjoying life.. Finally moves and the buck is at the feeder. I have him perfectly broadside, but can't tell what buck he is(don't wanna shoot my fiances buck). He picks up his head.. He's the big 8 I've been seeing on camera! Soon as he looks up a doe runs by him and he chases her off (all this happens in about 10 seconds). I can hear them doing the deed back in the thick stuff. Haven't seen anything since.. Clinging to the hope that they'll need a post dirty deed snack but not holding my breath!
Had that cow not been there it'd have been a cake shot.. And I'd be filleting backstraps right now!

That's exactly why I move my cows to the winter pasture next to my house. No stands or feeders in it. It's a little more open than the rest of my ranch. I move them the week before rifle season and move them back to the big pasture and wheat field the day after season. Hate dealing with cows when I'm hunting.

I did that but 2 got in overnight. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence bang what are the odds she posts herself RIGHT there RIGHT when that buck shows up?? And then moves RIGHT before he takes off??
