I have hunted hard this year, I'm on a new place that is 650 acres, not a lot of pressure around. I've seen tons of deer, mostly does and young bucks. We have pictures of several mature shooters. My frustration is that I keep picking the wrong stand. No matter what, I have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I filled feeders up this morning and checked the cameras, and there was a shooter at the feeders that I wasn't at this weekend. I know that if I stay patient that it will eventually pay off, but dang I would like to catch a break.

Don't second guess yourself......or make sure you tell the deer where you'll be so there won't be any confusion.

It just means you get to keep hunting longer.

Between my two boys and myself we have shot four does. We are searching for horns now.

This ^

The one thing that permanently ended my frustration was to relax and forget about shooting a shooter. You did all the prep pre-season. That's when it was time to worry. Now it time to enjoy the real reason why you got away from the daily grind.

If you don't shoot one this year there's always next year.

Been playing the cat and mouse game with 2 particular bucks since start of bow season. I finally felt that I had their travel routine down and well I did but still didn't close the deal. I've only bow hunted so far and the late last week had both at 15 yards but neither would get into a shooting lane. Then one morning the wind was blowing about 40mph and decided to sleep and not try to sling an arrow in that wind. Well the wind died at daybreak so I scambled to the closest set and as I crested the hill to my stand there stood a new guy, an absolute stud 10 that was at least 5.5 years old. of course he didn't like me cresting that hill and found a new place to go that morning.

I TOO FEEL YOUR PAIN!

I sat for 11.5 hours yesterday and saw a squirrel and a VERY obese rabbit. I counted it up and I haven't seen a deer in over 30 hours of stand time. Plus, doe season is over for me. I'm still excited to get in there Thursday.

I am a big fan of sticking to your spot. If you have deer in the area its just a matter of slipping up during daylight. I see too many people run to other spots as soon as they dont see anything. I am a prime example. Ive hunted my stand this year a total of 10 days and only seen a total of about 8 deer and no legal shooter bucks. I have the pictures that show me what is there so im sticking with it and there is no reason for me to turn tail. Perseverance and patience always wins. Now if the other spot shows strong daylight movement of course you would go! Stick with it.

Agree and some almost do the worst thing, start walk hunting (not to be confused with good still hunting). Grandad told me "sit when deer move" move when they sit" Bucks are on the move right now almost 24/7
