I had the best hunt I've been on in 5 years today. My dad and I got invited to a place over at Shamrock with a friend of his and two guys we hadn't met before. They took us to quail heaven. We worked a total of about 200 acres and moved 13 coveys in about 5 hours. The 5 of us killed 67 birds, and the best part is we only lost 3. Awesome dog work and an awesome day in general. This is what it's all about!!!!

Good job. Glad to see them back again. Now wait for the Debbie Downers saying you shot too many.

WOW!

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I think we are going to have a lot of reports like that this year - I certainly hope so!

Haha I thought someone might say something about that, but 5 birds per covey out of 40+ bird coveys won't decimate a population under any circumstances. Especially the way these folks manage their place. It was unbelievable.

That must have been a heck of a day! Sonofagun I'd kill for a mess of fried wild quail. Glad you got to enjoy it with your Dad. That was my 1st quail hunting partner. I miss him..

It sure was a lot of fun. They'll make for a great addition to the Thanksgiving table!
