The buck on the right is one I killed earlier this season he was an old warhorse not the one I killed on Ft Hood and the buck on the left is a 7 point I killed in Lometa a few years ago. I decided to do the euro myself which was kind of a pain in the butt, but well worth it in the end. I found the cedar log behind my house. In your opinion should I add some fake grass and maybe fake prickly pair cactus on the log?

I'm not a fan of fake foliage. Maybe a little barbed wire? It already looks good, whatever you decide.

I think the grass and cactus would make it look really nice, more like you would see if you had found the skulls on the ground. Nice work on the mount as it is cheers

I think it looks great Sapper, I like the barbed wire idea if you can find the old flat barb type.

I like it as is but please take that log back out and treat it for bugs if you haven't already. A big trash bag and big bomb will do wonders. I've seen too many people unknowingly bring critters inside like this. I do like the simplicity of the mount as is. I have one similar but standing up.

First thing I did was bug bomb it then pressure wash it.

Looks great as is. I'm not a big fan of fake cactus. Maybe barb wire and some rust colored bluestem confused2

Man you have become one with old wood!

My advice is free and worth it.

Stay away from fake. Period. Keep you eyes open. Stuff you need is out there and you'll know it when you see it. Something old. Spurs, worthless old pistol, branding iron, old bobwar, it's out there.

Some of my mounts use real grass in them.

I'd do old barbed wire or an old rusted Texas farm truck license plate......
