My condo is #14 we are all meeting down in Port O'Conner on the 8th. I have Garret, Dave Speer and Hogman in my condo. We are intending on supper on the 8th to be at Hurricane Junction restaurant. It is 50 yards from my condo and they have excellent food. I will have a map and we can all get a game plan while we test drive their Shiner Bocks.

On the 9th everyone will be at my condo around dark thirty in the evening for gumbo and boudin and I am sure a rashion of bull**** Hogman will be there so I am sure there will be an extra load of Bull****

I had lunch with another outfitter down there who is just a super nice guy. He has 20 foot blinds and serves breakfast in the blind. He is old school POC and a fabulous man to talk to. He is Pinfeather's Guide Service http://www.pinfeatherguideservice.com/ He can be booked for duck and for fish in the evening.

If you want to book a room call Brenda Carter. I believe the rates by then will be $100 a night. These are nice condos with a boat slip underneath. It is sure nice to step off the porch and onto the boat. Tell her Wayne #14 Sent you. I don't get paid but the street credit can't hurt.

I hope we have a good turn out as that might be the only weekend I get to hunt this year. I am headed down to the coast for 5 days of thanksgiving. THe whole time I will be busting my arse doing a downstairs renovation.

I called and talked to the condo people and the guide when you put up the first thread. Both said they would mark me down and get back to me. Have not heard back from either one yet.

You know you can't spend 5 days down there and not hunt at least once!

I am not even taking a shotgun. The only gun i am taking is a nail gun. I expect by noon on Thanksgiving day I will have the living room and kitchen torn down to studs. 4 days to completely put it back together with building a new wooden bar countertops. It just don't feel like duck season right now.

This trip sounds like a ton of fun and I love traveling for a good hunt, but I have to agree with Judd on this one.
Ain't no way I am driving anywhere much less 5 hours to shot a bunch of dang divers.

Common Mo, don't be stuck up private water mallard snob like Judd. Its about the adventure and party anyways, and I know you like that. They got pintails, and redheads I love watching them work and not bad eating. Maybe you pick up your daughter on the way down and bring her.

Now Guy, you know I am not a Private water mallard snob but that's a long ways for a diver hunt. You know what I would be leaving to make that trip anyway, would be a good time though, maybe they will plan it heading north next year and I will attend for sure.

Hold on their Mohunter. The ducks in that area are much more diverse than just divers. That area holds lots of grayducks, teal, pintails and mottled ducks. On the diver side the redhead population is outstanding. I like boiling redheads in crawdad boil preparing a stock for gumbo. I can't help but eat the meat with nothing else after boiling it like that. I know it passes the "Tastes great" test because my wife loves it that way too. She is a southern Cali girl and the pickiest eater on the planet. I have to run her off from the breast meat while it is cooling in a bowl, to be pulled from the bone.
