Looking for a good rangefinder that won't break the bank $400 or less that will range out to at least 1000 yards. What brand and what features do you recommend ? Thanks

What are you using it for? If this is just for a deer blind some apps can do range calculation on gps now.

What is break the bank? Bushnell has a 1300 and a 1600 and the Leupold 1200 is pretty nice. I have the 1000 Leupold but I don't think it will actually read that far. I've ranged to about 800 on it. If break the bank is much higher, then Leica 1600 ($800) comes into play.

Luckily within that budget, you have several options. However the distance is the concerning factor for me. For game, you hard pressed to obtain accurate ranging out to 800. Large inanimate objects out to 900, but reflective target out to a little over 1000.

Personally I am using Leupold's 1200i, and I really like it. I haven't spent a lot of time ranging with it, but it does get some use, I have been so busy, I haven't been able to hunt much this year.

Are you wanting this to hunt with? Or are you using this to get into shooting longer ranges?

This, or buy the Leupold for $299 from Cabelas while it's still on sale.

Leica for ultimate accuracy, I however use two other models, an older leupold and a bushnell arc1600. I'd get the leica if I could do it again.

I am very happy with the Bushnell 1 mile ARC for both hunting and long range.

I have the Vortex range finder which will range targets out to 850 or so. I'm pretty happy with it.
If I was going to buy again I would get the Leica

Yep or save a little money and buy the 1000 yard model. Leica is the way to go.

I have a leupold TBR 1000 and it works very well.
